Where did the Maintenance case go?

Hi Guys,
I keep seeing auctions for Maintenance Records cases on Ebay saying they were used in all the M-series vehicles. Some are vinyl, some canvas, etc. My question is where in the M37 would this records case have been kept? It looks too big for the glovebox. Any ideas?
thanks,
bob

Never saw one on an M37 in Army use. Have seen them used to hold manuals for MEP generators and other military equipment like pumps ect. where they were attached to the top bar of the roll cage.
I also have seen them below the pilots window of B29 bombers, the manual bag would have been below the window where the quilted insulation is exposed.

I'm not sure about active duty, but in the guard the bags where kept in the supply room. When you checked out the vehicle you got the bag, the manual and the key (for the padlock to the chain around the steering wheel). Then the driver would set them someplace secure while operating the vehicle. Like in the glove box. This way the bag was basically kept with the driver. If you parked the truck and walked away from it you were suppose to take the bag and the book etc with you. That was my experiance with them anyway.

When I was in the Army from 1976 to 1980 we keep the case under the driver's seat.
