Hi Guys,

I was reading a post in the swap meet section for a guy who is looking to get some parts for his M to be able to use it at his wedding. Man, his wife to be must be cool!! In a post I saw that 52 M-42 made mention of there being two types of spark plug wire sets.....a cheaper set and a more expensive set. Anybody know what the differences are between sets and who sells which? For what those wire sets go for I want to make sure I know what I'm buying when the time comes.

I'll try to get some more information on the specific differences between the two sets. It was mentioned to me in passing when I was discussing the differences in price with a guy who does a lot of MV overhauls / restorations.

I went to the person I originally discussed this with and got sent to another person and another person and eventually ended up talking to John Bizal at Midwest Military.

It turns out that the differences have to do with the terminations (I remembered that part) and the condition of the rubber (inside and outside the spark plug wire). The cheaper ones are usually NOS so the rubber may not be in great condition and the correct sets of cables have 90 degree terminations on the spark plug end. The cheaper sets may be made up from various different cable sets and don't have the proper terminations.

So, as in all aspects of this hobby, know what you are buying and check out your vendor. Electrical parts are especially tricky (at least for me).

I believe John has the correct sets for $235.
