Hi Guys,

Merry Christmas to all. I was looking around on Ebay last week and came across a magazine published by Chrylser called the "Chrylser Motors Magazine", dated December, 1951. It had a small pic of the M37 assembly line.........so I bought it. It arrived the other day and I finally had a chance to look at it. Seems it was a montly publication that Chrysler did for it's employees, with lots of photos and names of employees where they worked. I've scanned the M37 pic and page and they're below. Here' what I learned from it.....

The split rings are painted green. This is no revelation, but I've seen lots of pics where the rings seemed silver or light gray (galvanized). This pic just confirms that they were green when assembled.

The cooling fan is black.

The engine is silver.

The oil filter housing is black

The generator looks green?

And the cab and bed came down the line as one unit to be assembled with the frame. For some reason I expected the cab and bed to be installed on the frame seperately.

Anybody see anything else worth noting????

Thanks for the pics Bob, I have saved them and will go have a good look at what's in there, Cool find on the magazine, maybe we can all put the feelers out and find some more M37 related stuff?

I do have a question, one of the M37 variants listed is a "route Van", this loses me, are we talking about the Ambulance body Variant used for prison van and paymaster use?

You've got to wonder how the cab and body were moved around and
installed together. Must be on some kind of jig for that to happen.

MM, sorry I didn't scan the previous page. The article is about "Trucks for Every Job". A route van is a small van used for delivery routes. It's not a military application. We're talking about things like milk trucks, bread trucks, plumber's vans, small package delivery vans.....those are route trucks. I'll keep looking for more literature with our M37's being made.

JB.....that one struck me as odd too. I would have thought keeping a cab with a bed down the line would have been difficult. But as you said....there must have been some type of jig keeping them separate as they move down the line.
