Wow. I don't think I've ever seen a vehicle rust so evenly everywhere. Maybe if it was in a fire.....but I don't see any signs of that. That one deserves to go in the Graveyard!!

looks like a good excuse to take the 37 out for a supply run. . the winch is good, its still leaking oil and 12 bolts get you a spare clip and rad

Sure looks like a fire to me. Tire remnants on bottom of wheels, all rubber burned away, melted carb base, melted voltage regulator, generator cable missing runbber jacket and ends.....

Another clue it is a fire, all the insulation is off the wires, oh wait, that happens even without a fire!
Sure is a shame though.

Joe,
"Ran when parked...." LMAO.
Along with the other famous follow up lines "About ten years ago.." and "a good restoration candidate.."
The hood looks good, and there are some salvagable parts as mentioned. Although this rig looks more like a victim from the Trinity test site. Maybe it got blown there from New Mexico?
PS, I know Trinity was in 1945, it's a joke. So don't flogg me for historical inaccuracy LOL

Maybe the explosion set up a time vortex and the truck got sucked in to the explosion from the relative future????
Maybe I should go find my tinfoil hat now???

high all havent been on in along time. The truck belongs to a local rancher and they was using it for fixing windmills . It was burnt down. Can' remember if it was from a gas fire or a cutting torch. They have five or six m-37's . i tried to get some parts awhile back and no luck.

Goober, thanks for solving the mystery and welcome to the forum (I noticed you joined 3 years ago and 3 posts in that time, feel free to drop in more often

). I was starting to think it was a fire unit given the mods and fitments but seeing what you have said it makes sense, a pity to see it fried though.

thanks. I will be on more often . have two 53's now one is mine and one is my dads. but as i said that rancher has several . they are in exelant shape. body wise. most dont have drivetrain but they are good. no rust. but they wont get rid of them. they orignaly came from the mine. they bought them in the 60
s for the mine. then sold them latter on. i will see if i can get serial numbers for all they have and add it on this site.
