i know they are a lot more money than the superwinch but much higher quality and easier to engage

many times i have had the selectro's hung up on rocks and have yet to have a failure

my $99 supperwinches were torn off in the first year
the other option is :

but in my opinion military vehicles should not have polished aluminum or chrome. stainless is OK

I've managed to damage my selectro's enough that I took them off the M. Perhaps it's becaus eI use the truck a little rough, but they are a nice addition to the mostly on road PW. they did the repairs both times for free (only cost me shipping), but I'm defiantly out of warranty now, and would need the stronger ones if I do it again on an off road vehicle.

I've had the Warn hubs for over 30 years and they are great. I've pounded them pretty hard out in the woods and I've never had a problem with them. As for the shiny brass and chrome (I actually think it is polished aluminum), just paint it. Mine are painted and the "squareness" of the housing makes it look "stock".
I'm headed over to Scotland in June for my daughter's graduation, so if there is something you would like me to bring, let me know and it will save you shipping (if you can wait that long).

i never said shiny brass was a bad thing just that chrome and polished aluminum in my opinion should not be on an MV, and you seem to concur

don't get me wrong if i could afford the warn hubs for the m37 i would do so.
superwinch hubs $99.00
selectro hubs $273.41
Warn M13 look-alike Hubs $760.00
nos Warn m13 (saw a set sell on Ebay for) $1200

Is Simon talking about Lock Out Hubs like pictured above or is he talking about the Free Wheeling Flanges that have a bearing inside them instead of a spline ?

Holy Mackerel!

I had no idea Warn M-13s cost that much. I paid less than $150 for a set direct from Warn back in 1980.
People probably steal trucks just for the hubs!
Some stuff on these trucks just never ceases to amaze me. Happens when you get old, I guess.

Superwinch hubs are no longer made, as I recall. I also recall Tom at Snake River just posted about getting some Selectros or some other kind in stock recently-you might send him a PM.
