This may be the last chance to get one directly from the Air Force. Just watched the video, announcer says it's a diesel  my guess is those folks never saw a gas engine with a waterproof ignition system.

It ran when they parked it! LOL!

Did they close the base? I'm just wondering why they are getting rid of it since it's just a static display?

Don't know if it is closing or like Aberdeen Proving Ground just lost the museum and needs to rid its self of some displays instead of moving them to a new location. Current Bid: $1,864.44

Many of the outdoor display tanks and guns have been removed and the building is closed to the public, Ft Lee got most of the stuff.

Hi Carter,

I got to say WOW!....I never expected Aberdeen's museum to ever move or close. From what I understand Aberdeen is expanding, as personnel from other Army facilities are being BRAC'd there. BRAC is Base Realignment And Closure, which is how I got to Maryland from New Jersey. I would think with expansion of Aberdeen the museum would have been safe. Something I just never gave much thought to. Turns out Fort Lee isn't any further from me than Aberdeen, I'm just glad the armor is going somewhere other than the scrapper.

thanks for the info,
bob
