I'm new to the site and new to the M37's. I purchased a 1954 CDN just a few days ago and love the truck. It was mostly restored when I purchased it all except the tailgate and bed floor. I have 2 questions, 1) I was thinking of leveling the truck since it has a pretty decent rake. Is there enough travel in the front shocks to ad a ~2" block below the leaf springs or should a take a few leafs out of the back? 2) I'm in the process of removing the floor in the cargo box and was wondering where I could buy one similar to original. If not I will have to make one but it would be flat plate and not have the rib structure in it unfortunately.

adding blocks on a steer axle is a no-no. if you want to do it right a re-arc of your stock springs or an add a leaf or 2 from another set of stock springs are a better option.

I don't know what you mean by "leveling". Perhaps you should look at the front springs closely to see if they are collapsed or broken. I definitely wouldn't take any leafs out.

These are 1 ton trucks "on road" and so have a rake favoring a higher rear end to compensate for the weight when fully loaded.

Our trucks are mean looking all jacked up in back.....

When I first read the title I got the thought he meant "Level It", a couple of pounds of C4 should do it
My truck has a rake on it too but it levels out when loaded, yours should too.

Yeah I understand the load levelling. I own a dodge ram 3500 and it to is raked for that reason but I did not intend on loading my M37. I'll look into adding a leaf most likely thanks

My truck has the heavy duty spring set in the back, shory of modding the whole spring sets I'll just go with what I have, if I put a water tank in the back along with all my other junk it should level out nicely...

just swapped out my front leafs and accidentally made the truck level.

the springs i swapped in came off a m43 with a 360 in it. the pack is 1.5in thicker than stock and has five extra leaves. one below the top two, one half way down and three at the bottom. haven't had in on the road yet. i imagine its going to be ruff as ..........
