Just a quick note.
I added a few more pictures to the last page of our album. Hope to start stenciling the stars tomorrow!!
Still have lots of parts to put back on, but things are moving very slowly? Could it be me?

The truck is looking good. I know the "moving slow" feeling. I had hoped to have my trailer done this summer but it did not happen. Of course I did not get a whole lot of anything else done this summer either
Did you get the stencil set from Rick Larsen? Those masks work great.

Nice work Tim looks great, I don't see that you are moving slowly, every couple of weeks new pix are posted in your album indicating progress made. I am the champion of slow moving as it took me over two decades to finish mine not just the few of months you have taken. Looking forward to seeing shots of the markings on Lori's M.

"Aussie" & I are headed to the shop as soon as I sigh off. I did receive my stencil kit from Rick Larsen!! They arrived last week while I was on the road trucking! I only ordered the stars and one extra stencil of my Father's "nickname". Hope I don't make my Mother cry. It's going to be a surprise. I'm her "BEST" boy!! (only boy)

I was looking for your new oil-boards/stencils, maybe later? On another note, when you mounted your water separator/electric fuel pump, did you go around your engines mechanical pump or simply plumb through it?
If I'm not mistaken, Rick's stencils have more than one use to them, if your careful?

Well, I've got good news and I've got bad news!
The stars went on like a dream!
I goofed up the stencil real bad! My fault entirely! Going to plan "B".
PS: A good painter could use Rick's stencils a number of times!! (i'm not a good painter )

What I found from experience is you never run an electric pump in the same line as your old mechanical pump! Learned that one the hard way! Always block off the old pump or you run the risk of pumping fuel into your crankcase! Trust me on this one!

Fuel pump fix. When I got my truck, the PO had put and electric pump on and mounted on the right inner fender right across from the exhaust manifold. I know vapor lock still exists... He had also removed the mechanical pump and installed a cover plate made of about 10 ga. steel, can you say "leak like a sieve"? I found a broken mechanical pump for $5 and milled out the top section from one side to the other through the fitting holes. I turned a piece of brass to fit the bore and drilled and tapped it for 1/4" npt. I JB weld epoxied the brass tube into the bored hole and screwed the fuel lines into it. It looks functional but is a dummy. I also relocated the electric pump to the rear and fabricated a bracket with the pump, marine filter, pressure regulator and shutoff valves and mounted it to the bed cross member just in front of the fuel tank.

Tim's right-on, I like this, might start on it instead of searching "All Over Kingdom Come" for a BLANK cover!
