Just a another mouse trap

While doing the research here on the pioneer tools I read about the concerns of stolen tools. I agree it's a real concern, yet I didn't want to drill perfectly good tools to secure them. Tie wraps would only slow down a kid. I thought about fabbing a cage that could be locked over the tools. Besides looking like crap you wouldn't get the effect of the tools. My solution is as follows, and anyone that really wants them of course will get them. The first picture shows the strap on the pick and handle. The second shows whats underneath.
This is S.S. banding that came off a job 20 years ago. Uses a special tool to draw it tight and the allen set screw to secure the band. But any banding system would work and short of snips or a good Buck Knife I think I did my best.

Interesting setup. BTW the tools and the truck look great!

I like it, are you going to do all three tools this way?

I currently use zip ties under the straps, and put the tailgate fully down to help hide them from prominent view unless I am with the truck. As noted, anyone who wants them bad enough will get them anyway, but I need the functionality....

Yes they will all get the same treatment once the current storms pass. On this system I can back out the set screw and then reuse them if the tools are needed.

I noticed "Band-It" is this something that we all might be able to find?

I'm sure the tool and material would be out of everyone's price range for even a fleet of M37s. My kit was left by the pipe cover-er after a rather large job and it was either my shop or the dumpster. What I did notice and have seen used on other jobs is S.S. tie wraps, it's on their website as well.
