Aberdeen MV Meet 2012

I have an off the wall question. I have a medium sized box that is a type of military field desk/admin box. I thought mine had a drawer missing but I saw a box just like it at Aberdeen and a typewriter goes in this space. I didn't think about it at the time but I should have looked to see what model/make typewriter it was so I can look for one that I know will fit and should be correct. The vendor was a man and a woman is all I can remember at least several rows in... about in the middle if memory is correct. I only had a couple hours and people were beginning to put their stuff up on the last day. I know it is a long shot but if this rings a bell with anyone please let me know the vendor so I can contact them to see if they can tell me what type type writer it should have.

Thanks,
Mark

Hi Mark,

I was there and looked for typewriters from WWII. I saw some that where right after the war. There was one I asked the guy at that booth and he said it was WWII. It was a smith-corona. During the time of WWII it should have only said corona.

Check out this post on the G503:

Alan,
Thanks for the link, about half way down there is a military type manual listing that shows what is called a company field desk, that is exactly like the one I have but I tried to blow up the drawing and all it says is portable type writer.... not much to go on for a model that I know would be appropriate... or at least close and that it would fit in the hole before I bought it....lol.

I will keep looking but that is exactly what I was looking for.... now I just need a make/model to know it will fit. I may try to contact one of the guys that were in the post but it was from a few years ago.... not sure if they are still around.

Thanks for the info.

Mark

Hey Mark,

You might want to keep an eye out here: http://www.collectibletypewriters.com/

There is one on e-pay right now that is correct.

There is another guy that sells them on the web but I can't seem to find him and can't find my bookmark.
