Gentlemen,

I have a 1952 Dodge M-37, which I installed a Chrysler Industrial Engine 230ci into last summer (we had discussed this on here).

The fuel pump, is not military, or the civilian power wagon model...BUT someone on here was talking about my exact fuel pump in an old thread...searched and searched but couldn't find it now

I believe they said that it came off of a Plymouth or some other car with a flat head 6, and was a common retro-fit.

I have included two pictures, my apologies on the quality it was with my phone. If they are unacceptable I will take a couple better ones tomorrow!

The pump has stopped working, and for the time being I have an electric pump rigged up so I can move the truck around the property...but I would like to get a re-build kit ASAP

I've got the same pump on my M37.....it came that way from the previous owner. I did a little digging and it's for a Dodge WC 1/2 ton and Power Wagon. It's on page 20 of the vintagepowerwagons.com parts section for M37s. They don't show a rebuild kit for it, just the pump at $79, and the part # CC695806. I don't know if you can cross reference that part number or not, but you could give them a call and see if they sell rebuild kits........or can point you to someone who does. Sorry I can't be of more help.

This pump was on the junk engine when I got my M-37

I have the same pump on my '54. You can buy the whole assembly from NAPA for like $50.

You can check Then and Now Automotive for rebuild kits, they seem to have the latest materials to slow down the effects of ethanol.

This is good to know, I will probably go this route instead of waiting to go to VPW...

Pardon my ignorance on this topic by the way, but one last question. When I remove the old pump, will stuff (not gas) start pouring out of my engine?

Sorry if it's a dumb question, the fuel pump on these things is an unfamiliar area for me (besides cleaning the bowl and stone filter etc)

Not a dumb question at all. I am wondering the same thing. I want to remove my mechanical fuel pump and make a block off plate, but I do not want to drain the oil if I do not need to. On the other hand, it is about oil change time anyways.

GOOD MORNING, Nothing will come out the fuel pump hole when you remove the old pump. I made a block off plate for my M and installed a bendix 24v fuel pump. best thing I ever did. GOOD LUCK BOB

Bob, what did you use for the block off plate.. I was thinking of 1/8" or 3/16" stainless if I could find some. Otherwise regular plate steel will be used. Someone else here used aluminum.

Just a little update, pictures later today hopefully!

Located this fuel pump at the local auto store: it is a Carter M2090. PERFECT replacement.

I installed it with no problems, and also installed an inline fuel filter as my fuel lines have not been replaced!

I have tried to find it on line, no dice so far? I will try and find it tomorrow at the parts counter locally.

Rockauto.com has them for $57.79. I just looked. You can do a part number search for it.

I just went to the local auto parts store, and gave them the Carter number...they matched it without any issues
