Hey all, Have a favor when you get a chance.
Those of you on the military 9.00x16 tires can ya do me a favor???
When your M-37 is on level pavement and tires straight. Can you take a tape measure and go from the ground to the edge of the front fender is for a dimension??? I would like the LH and RH notations. Please use your axle hub as a center point on the measurement so the tape is on the top of it, that way the fender will be measured roughly the same location............................I would like to see the differences.
Trying to find out if I have some spring issues.

If spring sag measurement is what you are after, you may want to ask for the measurement from the top of the rim to fender. That would take away the variables of treadwear and inflation pressures out of the equation. just my $.02

Mine is 43.5" left side, 43.75" right side. Tires are brand new STA 9x16's with about 10 miles on them. TP set to 40 for now, will likely drop them to 38 for a little more contact patch.

Thanks, That is what I was thinking about and yes after I posted this question, I left to go pick up my lil girl and I started laughing as not everyones tires would have the same wear. I initally thought about a measurment from the frame to the spring cushion would work but I like your suggestion better!!

Thanks Warren. I feel a little better now. As I have a 1" difference between left and right but I am at 42.5 and 43.5. What had brought this on was that I kind of noticed my truck had a slight lean in a parking lot last weekend. I would notice it again later in my drive way. When I stuck my head in the wheel well, I noticed that my left spring was pretty dam straight to where the right had a slight arch to it. I looked for a broken leaf but I dont see one. I started to inquire getting another used leaf assy to swap it out but that fell apart and with Memorial day around the corner, I need it now. So I bit the bullet and did what I really did not want to do and that was rob it from another axle I have that is slated to go back together on another frame but I said screw it and got the torches out. So once I got back to the M-37, I got it out of the barn and took it down the road where its level to just make sure that I am not doing this for nothing. Well when I took my measurement and had about a inch difference and now both look fairly straight, I slowed back a bit to do a some more reasearch, hense why I started this thread.

vtduecedriver,
Is your truck an m-37 or an M-37b1. Is there an added spacer or thicker spacer to compensate
for the door mounted spare. It would be on the drivers side. Every body who posted has a
measurement that is less on the drivers side(left). My M is a 1951 and has 11.00 x 16 tires on it . It measures 45 on each side.
I recall reading about the larger spacer, but can not give a source.

Hey rich,
its a 51 M-37 but that being said, at one time she had the spare on the door and will go back here shortly but the spacer is not installed.

My 51M measures 44 and a half with the tires at 35 pounds pressure both sides. Tires are worn but in decent shape and original dated 1951 all 4.

Mine has new springs and tires-do you need a measurement with these parameters?
