Good morning all, I just ordered a hot water cab heater for my M, from J C Whitney. My question: where do I take the feed and return from the engine?
THANKS BOB

I'll do some digging but look in the picture albums for my installation. Photo album named Tim Powell. I've still got the "blue prints" if you will, somewhere!!

"The pressure side of your heater system is the port at the back of the head. The front connection is only returning the fluid to the pump. I seriously doubt there would be any discernable increase in flow by moving it to the pump's main suck port. It's already being dumped into the bypass port which dumps directly to the pump's impeller". (From a previous post.)

"The return hose goes to the shutoff cock installed in the bypass elbow above the pump. The pressure hose goes to the shutoff cock installed in the rear of the head behind #6 spark plug." (From a previous post.)

I Took a look at the engine, I see two pipe plugs at the rear of the head, one looks to be 1/2" the other 3/8". Could I use either one for the feed? I would rather use the 1/2" one.

They had a hot water heater that sat out on the front left fender. They really look cool and some of these Guys have them. I opted for an after market 24 volt add-on under the dash. You'll find pictures in my photo album.

I used a MUTT heater under the passenger side dash-20,000 BTU and small enough to leave leg room for passengers.

I ordered my heater from J C WHITTNEY, Has not arrived yet. $130 free shipping. I looked at Tim Powell's heater intstall pics and thats thre route I'll follow. Mine is 12v so I will tap off one battery to provide energy. I have a 12v sirene mounted on the drivers side finder, its 12v and I wired it thru the horn button, boy does it scream, it only gets short bursts of 24v and so far no problems.
GOOD LUCK WITH YOUR HEATER BOB
