Will a Canvas top M35 work on a M37?
Thanks,
Paddy

Not properly-the M37 top has three metal plates on each side that fit into the top side brackets. Deuce tops usually have the twist tab retainers or snaps with flaps. Save the hassle and get the correct top if you can.

GOOD MORNING ALL, I just ordered a new top from webe webbing, I have sent them a check $545, includes shipping, but have not rec'd the top yet. I did ask the the top be made from a sunbrella product rather than its original material. I also asked that the rear window be zippered so I can un-zip and have the plastic lay on the seat back. you might get a better price if you stay all military. I ordered from them because I saw a pic or an M 37 on this site, the top looked great, I inquired about the maker and was told webe. I'll let you know how it all works out when I get the top.

Just to clarify it is WeeBee Webbing.
I've seen a M35 top put on a M37 as a temp kind of thing. Guy was working on a trucks interior in a restoration and the truck had to sit outside for a few days so he threw the M35 top on to give the cab some cover incase of rain. But yeah it didn't fit very well and if it was me I wouldn't have driven with it like that.

My truck had a deuce cage on it with a raggedy top when I got it. Didn't fit well at all and the cage wasn't even secured in the front. It took some time to find the right M37 top brackets (thanks XM708!) but I finally did and also got the correct M37 top from Adirondack Dodge-came together perfectly and the look mirrored all those frame-off restoration tops so I am well pleased to have secured the correct pieces.
Again, save yourself the drama and get the correct pieces and top.
