Here are some photos from this past Saturday's efforts at removing the bed from my '37:

My buddy is wielding the powersprayer as we get years of gunk and dirt off of the frame components.
The bed floor is in need of some "repair...LOL" but the rest of the frame seems pretty solid. There are a few holes in the tool box floor but that doesn't seem to be too serious.
I got my replacement windshield frame (thanks M-37Bruce!) so I can finally scrap the old one.
Progress!!!

After seeing the pic of the bed floor, I'm guessing the ad read "minor rust." Right?

I remember the very first M37 I looked at over in New Jersey back when I first started looking into buying one. The old guy's truck was sitting on the side of his garage. The bed was about 30 yards away on a pallet. The bed floor looked exactly like that. I remember the guy telling me, "oh thats minor and can easily be welded up"...... Needless to say I passed on the deal.
Fortunately these days there are replacement bed floors being made. Contact Sheldon at Jeepanels plus. I have seen some of his at the Aberdeen show. They look very nice.

I don't think the ad said anything about rust, IIRC, but he did tell me that there was a "small" hole in the bed. The bed had a piece of plywood in it that looked to be rather old and was covered in spare wheels, the windshield, fenders, etc.
Only after I got it home last year did I find the small "hole". This truck is not any worse that some I've seen pics of and better than others. It does run so that is a plus.
I am trying to make it to Aberdeen this year so I'll no doubt be shopping for a new bed floor, among other things.

I saw some repros by MW - man are they nice looking. John says the holes line up and he throws in the tank access cover. He can send in 2 pieces or weld them into one. You might want to check him out.

If you purchase one from Sheldon at Jeepanels plus, he can bring it to Aberdeen if requested to do so, thus saving you big $ on shipping. Thats what I did when I bought my tailgate from him. No doubt that those from Midwest Mil are of A+ quality but the shipping from John's place (as far as I know John Bizal does not attend the Aberdeen show), will more than likely be costly.

Are they still in business? I heard there may be a problem. I was interested in some of their other products but cannot find them on the web.

Hmmnnn, strange, I couldn't find his site either. I know Sheldon used to have a very minimal website, but a site nontheless. I just did a search and came up with another website under the same name but its obviously a different site. Anyway, I searched some old threads concerning the Jeepanels site we are interested in and it seems others have had trouble finding him on the web of late as well. I did come across a phone number that you could try though 1-207-743-7671 . Give him a call and let us know if he's still doing business.
