More snow on the way...

Got my canvas top prepped for install, realigned the door glass for a better fit, ensured the heater is perking. Still haven't installed the PTO-was hoping to do that when I got my flywheel issue resolved but was unable to remove the ring gear from the good flywheel in order to sweat it onto my civilian flywheel (which mates to my civvy 12V starter). At least I have all the bumperettes installed and a couple of good-sized tow chains-perhaps I can make a few bucks dragging some non-drivers out of the ditches....

Looks like you won't be towing anyone out of ditches until that transfer case gets repaired.

Sure thing Bert-
I'm going to see if I can swap it later today before the storm hits tonight-maybe I can use a ratchet strap to support it since I don't have a transmission jack.

Do you have a regular floor jack? Looks like you might get by with that and some 2x4's to make a cradle. (I've been studying mine just in case....

I would seriously think about either renting or borrowing a Tranny Jack. Especially if your going to do it by yourself. The transfer case is close to 175 LBS. and its clumpy...

I used two ratchet straps and two 2x4. 2x4's were running side to side and straps were front to back to the tie down points on the frame rails. Worked pretty well for me. just take your time and don't be under it.

Yeah, I was creeping all around the perimeter getting everything detached-my Tech Group post has pictures, and I ponied up for a tranny jack tonight.

I have a quad/motorcycle jack that I bought at harbor freight for $50.00 and that works real well for trans,T Case, Diffs, installing the heavy 900/16 tires along with a lot other lifting chores I have seen them on Craig's list from $25.00-$40.00,but just a handy tool to go with the floor jacks and makes life a lot easier,
