I tried to register our 1962 37B1 but the serial # comes up invalid. This number(15373) is the same on the dataplate and the original release form 97 from 19 August 1975. This is a Marine Corp version by the way. Any ideas ??

I think we need more info. What is the frame number? (Lower left side front of the steerring box) Which DMV are you dealing with, some computers won't accept a VIN without letters and numbers. What kind of documentation do you have? What happens if you put 2668-0- in front of your number? According to the registry here, your number is just the last part and matches to a 1965 not 1962.

I had a problem when I tried to register my 54. When I submitted the s/n it came back as not being valid. I looked again and found that someone had mistaken a 3 for an 8 and that was on the title. I had to have the title corrected. All is good with the world now. Seems the mistake was at least 2 owners ago, most likely when it was first registered in Ohio.
