I'm not a purist when restoring my M37 and have decided to avoid all the expense and hassle of getting a suitable
military styled fuel pump. I just can't afford a "new" one or a rebuilt unit.
So, in the short term, I'm just going to buy a civilian pump and avoid any possible hassels with incorrect kits and rebuilds by Then and Now.
Does anyone have part numbers from NAPA or AC or anywhere else for a civilian pump???
The crossover list that I have shows NAPA 2766 for the civie pump but my local NAPA says
this part number is an air filter.
Is there a web site for Dodge Power Wagons.... they might have the civie pump info.

Not sure on the 251 , but on a 230 the distributor tang does not match up if you use the 24 volt distributor. I have not had my 1st cup of coffee yet but you may want to double check that, Kurt OOPS, now the coffee is kicking in. Disregard that I.m wrong again...fuel pump...oil pump...huh...

I found the correct 251 cu. in. civilian fuel pump at NAPA.
It's part number M847. List price is: $99.44. Made in USA.
With my generous discount
I only paid $47.24. At that price these pumps might be a good back up
for your military pump and/or are cheap enough to be throw-away if
and when one of these civie pumps fail.
NAPA also has the civie pumps for 230 cu. in. blocks at similar prices.
If you don't already have a discount arrangement with your local NAPA
store, ask if they DO have some discount program that you are eligible
for. Local car clubs sometimes have this discount as well as local, county
and state government offices, as well as local businesses.
If you ask, (wink, wink) the counter people will likely
throw you into one of these catagories for a nice savings.
Before I started getting my current "discount" I would tell NAPA that
they were higher in price than a competitor or mail order. They ALWAYS
found a way to discount. Try it.... you'll save a few bucks.

I actually just did the same thing. The only issue i ran into was i had to change the long right side bolt to a short one because the shank was in the way of putting the fuel bowl on. And also had to ger a couple adapters to hook up the the original fuel line fittings.
