Got a call this morning from a friend who owns and operates a rural auto/truck/farm tractor repair business. One of his customers who had seen my M 37 ask where I live because he wanted to drop of some parts he had stored for years and wanted to get rid of them. When the fellow showed up he had box after box of dirty, rusty but useable for the most part and good used stuff, one was nearly 80#. I looked thru some boxes and found 2 voltage regs, 2 coils, a NOS exhaust manifold, used intake manifold, lots of gauges, about a doz. cans of genny brgs, a bag of genny brushes, 2 light switches, 3 wiper motors, 2 horns, NOS bed mount spare bracket w/ bar, NOS but rusty 2 pc. front exhaust pipe, used/good starter and 6 or 7 trailer bow corners ,a brass Fire Gun carbon tet fire ext and bracket and much more. I have crates of stuff to go thru and photo.

Well, not free, the guy left them for me to check through and then make offer which I did just a couple of min. ago. Got everything for $300 but I'm still smiling since there must be over $1000 worth of useable things, starter, 2 voltage regs, intake and exhaust manifolds, turn signal control and solid state box and all the other things mentioned in my first post. :D

Sorry for the delayed response. I am retired Coast Guard and that is used for signaling passing planes or ships if your boat sinks. Look at the back it will have instructions on it. odd find in an m37 stash...

Carter,

Looks like you lucked out. There are some good parts in there.

Will you be sorting out and offering up the extras for sale?

I see some things I would be interested in.

That littel black box with the three pin connector on it is your turnsignal flasher box. It hooks to the harness off the turn signal switch. Standard military from the Late 60s on.

Nothing beats a grab bag (or milk crates)of free goodies. Good score. Like K8ICU stated, the one item appears to be the solid state turn signal module.
You may want to oil up that valve spring compressor before use though

Carter,

The gas can carrier and the lifting shackle for starters. What size are the spring washers?

I live not to far from you so I can pick up parts.

About the compressor, I think I'll use the electrolysis rust removal method to clean it before it gets oiled then see if it works, hate to pitch it.

Thanks guys, never saw that kind of turn signal box before, just the flat ones, like this one:

However the one I ask about does fit the harness so I'll hook up some lights, power and ground and give it a try and see what flashes.
