How much pedal free travel do you have? The TM advises one inch. I'd start there, then look for wear in the clutch linkage. If that all checks out pull the bottom access cover, shine a light up to the release bearing area and have someone push the pedal in and out while you inspect the pressure plate functionality.

To add make sure all of the linkages are properly lubed also check the pedal return spring to make sure the pedal is seating in the full return, I have one that the pedal height is real high in relation to the brake pedal for proper disengagement! I adjusted for alignment and ended up with a hanging clutch so readjusting for operation is what the resulting height is which maybe from an incorrect throw out bearing or other incorrect parts .

I just bought a m-37 that hadn't been driven in a year or two . Changed oil , filter , and changed out the gas left in the tank . A few squirts of starter fluid and - SHE'S ALIVE !!! A bit ragged at first , but running . However , when I tried to roll her out for a test hop , I found that I have a full clutch pedal , but it won't shift into gear . Can someone tell me how to adjust the CLUTCH . Thanks ,
Dan

I've read that sometimes if they have been stored the clutch plate can stick to the flywheel. Clutch disk? Pressure plate? I never remember what the different bits are called. The plate thing that is mashed to the flywheel can actually stick to the flywheel. There's a thread here somewhere where I think MSeriesRebuiuld talks about unsticking a clutch.
Hope this helps.
