Keeping water from pooling on canvas

Just curious if any of you fellows had any tips from keeping rain water from pooling on the bed tarpaulin? If I really tighten all the ropes, I still have some sag between the bed bows, I thought of making stretcher bars of oak to go between the metal bows on both sides, to sort of pull them apart. Any thoughts?

C Garbee (IIRC!) said on his site that he made wood bow to run lengthwise on his truck to prevent the canvas from sagging. I think he did it mainly for the looks but it should solve your problem too. He had pictures of it posted on his site so check there. Let us know how it works if you try it.

I lay a piece of 1/4" plywood over the tops of my M101 trailer bows, under the cover, to keep it from sagging. Works great for me!

I run an adjustable webbing strap on each side of the center bar from front to back. It works pretty well (the pools are much smaller) and doesn't impede top removal if necessary.
