PTO Question

Howdy Folks,
The M37 I bought came with an uninstalled LU4 winch and PTO (see pics below). The previous owner never got around to installing them on the truck but threw them in with the purchase.
I don't believe the PTO is original military or correct for the truck. The model is a Spicer WN 7. I can't find much information on this model. Does anyone know about this model PTO and if it will bolt up to the transmission and work? The previous owner indicated that it would and the bolt pattern looks correct, but I'm skeptical.
Thanks for any insight.

The winch is correct for the M37, however that PTO is for the Spicer transmission used on the M35 & M35A2. It is not compatible with the stock M37 transmission even though the bolt pattern is the same.

Thanks Charles. So my power train body and frame manual indicates the Detroit Harvester DH-12530. Are there others that work with the M37? How easy are these to find?

you are also missing the winch mounting plates L brackets that bolt to the sides of the winch

True. I have the front brackets, but will also need the frame extensions and winch bumpers. Just trying to research what all I'll need to install this.

The WDX - WM300 series Power Wagons, and the M37's used frame extensions to mount their winches. ("W" series through '71 as well - not sure about the '72 - '80 "W" series)
Only WWII WC's had winch unique frames, i.e., WC51 frame had no provision for a winch, but WC52 had the longer frame for mounting a winch.

The body and frame manual specifically mentions frame extensions. I don't see how you could shoehorn in a winch without them given the front bracket attachment points, etc.
Back to my original question: Who made/makes M37 PTOs? Are they a readily available item from Midwest Mil or VPW. Plan to call them this week, but just wondering as a point of discussion.

VPW has the mounting stuff for the winch, but they only carry rebuilt PTOs for the Civvy PWs
