Can anyone see a problem with using a 16" thermostatically controlled electric fan in place of the stock fan?
I would like to try and keep the engine bay cooler, especially while idling.
I aslo read that removing the stock fan would increase engine power? dont know about that though!
Cheers

Anytime accessories that are placing load on the engine are removed, some increase happens. Is it significant or will you notice, I doubt it. An electric fan will place more load on the alternator which also loads the engine; probably wouldn't miss the break even mark on load very far.
Nothing wrong with going electric, I'd use the largest diameter fan that I could mount in there if I were going for the change.

Thanks, true about the extra load on the alternator but I'm not bothered about any potential increase in engine power anyway.
The fan I was thinking of is a 16" slim design with 11 fins.
