Packard connector question

Hi Guys,
On a gauge with Packard (rubber) connectors, one terminal rubber is smooth, the other is ribbed. (sounds like an ad for trojans) Is the ribbed one the power and the smooth one the feed to the sender?
Thanks,
Tim

Using this view of your gage the larger socket to your right is the power in and the smaller socket to the left is to the sender.

Hi Cuz,
Thanks for the reply. The gauge I am playing with has Packard connectors not the Douglas connectors you posted. I will look and see if the 2 rubbers are different sizes, if so I can probably use the same reasoning of large = power and small = sender.
Thanks,
Tim

The gages are the same no matter which type connector you use..

I suppose I should actually say the gauges are the same layout electrically (+/-) no matter which type connector you use. Also it is very easy to adapt either connector system to a gauge using the opposite connector system.
