I just enlisted in the M-37 Registry and I am trying to find out the history of my truck. The title says that it is a 1953 M-37 and it was issued a State of California replacement identification number. The data plates have been replaced with reproductions and none of the numbers are filled in. The only number I can find on it so far is on the engine block, T245-2I259. The truck looks like it was originally painted Air Force blue and that's how I plan to restore it. Is there anyplace else on the truck that the serial number might be stamped? I haven't tried to sand off the paint yet to see if there is anything stenciled on the doors. Thanks for your help.

Hi Zeke,
Welcome aboard! I am also in the process of restoring an Air Force M37. Mine is a 52. The engine number wont help you much. The serial number will be stamped into the frame, drivers side, above the front spring. You may need to do a bit of forensics to find it but it should be there.
Where are you located?
Tim

WELCOME ONBOARD ZEKE. LOTS OF GREAT PEOPLE IN THIS FORUM, AND LOTS OF NICE TRUCKS TO SEE. CONGRATULATIONS ON YOUR NEW RIG. AS AFOREMENTIONED, THE CHASSIS SERIAL # IS STAMPED ON THE FRAME RAIL IN FRONT OF THE STEERING BOX. ONCE YOU MANAGE TO REVEAL IT FROM UNDERNEATH THE PAINT (MULTIPLE LAYERS PERHAPS) ENTER THAT NUMBER TO THIS FORUM'S REGISTRY. IT WILL TELL YOU WHAT YEAR YOUR TRUCK IS.

Thanks for the information. I'll look for the number on the frame this weekend. Me and my truck live in Ohio, about 20 miles east of Cleveland.
