I just installed a NOS heater kit and the holes didn't match the brackets on my 54. I think the kit must for a later model as there were parts that weren't called out in the installation and had no place to be used. I used the original holes in the fender and knocked them out before checking the brackets and to my dismay, the holes didn't match and I had to drill new ones. I did use the rear holes since the heater sat level with those holes lined up. The problem with the rear holes is that they are too far forward and the 4" connector hose to the feed through flange is too short. I ended up using a piece of 4" dust collector hose and painted it OD to match the truck. If you are going to use the original hoses, you will probably have to make new brackets to let the heater sit level and far enough back to connect the hoses properly. If you didn't know, mine looks original and the knock out holes are hidden under the unit. I just painted all of the raw metal edges to stop rust. The only other problem is the holes under the dash are not drilled as the installation describes, I had to drill a couple to mount the heater switch, no big deal, everything else fit great. HTH.

Luckily I have not knocked out the holes yet on my '53 so I'll just punch some new ones according to the measurements that are shown in the manual. Those in the manual match the brackets on the heater.
Still wondering why the confusion. Must be different kits for different years of mfg'ing.

I am back here again seeking for your help.
I found finally a bit of time to install the fender mounted hot water kit to my 63
M37b1. I have this completed kit for long time and I have already made few steps
by installing the actual motor on the fender. Holes messed up but this think is so big that
is hiding the mistakes. The windshield defroster went good as well as the diversion box
under the dash board.
Now….. is one bracket like a question mark holding the air
hose under the dashboard and one sleeve bracket that I don’t know where are going.
Any help with instructions and or photos ?
I have also one kit incomplete that I will give away some time.

Do you need a copy of the instructions?

Pg 12 shows the duct shroud and the "J" bracket is what the shroud sits in.
