Hi

I am looking for a M37 in a good shape, not complitely restored but reasonably, for a reasonably price as well.

Could any body tell me as well what are the price ranges for this trucks?

In this country(USA) M37 prices run all over the place, $1000-$3000 (US) gets you something that is ready for scrap or target practice. $4000-$8000 gets you something that runs but could need some body and mechanical work . $8000 and above, you got something that should look and run pretty damn good. In our vast country prices seem to vary quite a bit though. The further away from the big cities the less expensive M37s tend to be, that is my personal observation. I'm sure other guys that read this site have their opinions too.

I agree with OBXRON. Mine was a stretch at $600 because it was so rusted out, but was missing few parts, and most importantly HAD THE TITLE AND REGISTRATION intact!. Depending on your state, titling an M37 can be a nightmare.

Replacement parts are readily available and at good prices if you shop around, to include body panels, tubs, beds, etc. (I know because I've replaced all of these items). If you have the mechanical "know how" to handle the labor and are not in a huge hurry to be driving it, you might pay less for a salvageable model that you can work through. On the other hand, if you're looking to enter parades or use it immediately as a work truck, etc. you'll likely spend more for a truck that is in compatible shape.

One of my clients has an M37/M101 trailer combination for sale. He is in Charlotte, NC. We did a full restoration on the trailer several years back. We did a complete mechanical rebuild with some updates on the truck some years back as well, has been run little since work was done & has been garage kept at all times. I agree with OBXRON about the geographical differences in value for an M37. I got mine for $600 with a good title. The body is solid except for some minor rust under the right headlight and a few extra holes that the town who got it from the government drilled in it to mount a CB radio, 12-volt rotating amber beacon, and a snow plow. It's missing the front marker lights and both tail lights, though, and has the corner torn off the right rear fender where someone backed it over a fire hydrant.

The engine was trashed when I got the truck. Some fool ran it without oil and threw the #5 rod through the side of the block. I got another engine (thanks, Cabell) for a hunnert bucks, which is now being rebuilt at the best machine shop in my area. Total cost of the rebuild is expected to be about $1,800.

I'll have to get some innards for the lights that I managed to acquire and will probably have to rewire the truck eventually.

Once it's running, I'll consider getting the "extra" holes patched and having the truck painted.

If you can get a running truck for $3,000 or so, you'll be ahead of me in the game. My biggest expense at this point is the unplanned engine rebuild. Other than that, I get what I can, when I can find it, and when I can afford it. I'm in no hurry, and I don't plan on a "100-point" restoration. The truck is purely a "toy," and I enjoy playing with it.

Is it me or is this not the same dude who posted pictures some time back of his M37 with a modified cab interior? I could of swore he had the same handle. Maybe I'm wrong..

Yes he is, we've crossed a couple of emails with him. He is not mechanically inclined and his M-37 was repowered by the Spanish Army with a Land Rover engine and transmission, other headlights and some other mods.
He even posted some photos of his truck.
So he maybe considering import to Spain another M-37 in better shape or at least in a more original one.

Handcrafting in Europe is very expensive.

John at Midwest Military has some on his web site. Would be a good place to start.
