Inverters

Has anyone here had a particularly good or bad experience with a brand of 12vdc-120vac inverter? I am looking to install one in another of truck of mine, directly hard wired in. Something in the 3000-5000 watt range should do it. Since it is an old firetruck, there is already a 200 amp alternator in place along with a HEAVY duty wiring system. In addition, I am going to install a power point (cigarette lighter) bank as well. I can do this directly off the factory toggle switch panel with no trouble, just tapping in to to an unused circuit. Any experience there as well?
