WTB: Water Temperature Gage

I would like to purchase a working water temp. gauge. Used or new. Working condition is all that matters. My current one jumps, but does not function. I used that military gauge worksheet, and isolated it to the gauge. My sending unit reads correct resistance. My current one is a 260° F. Shipping would be to 97124.

Thanks,
Jon

Jon,
Do you have the very early 6V gage with the 95 Ohm resistor or the later 24 V without the resistor?

That is a good question. I would guess that it is 24. When I was doing the isolating, the meter was reading 24 volts going to the gauge.

The later gages look like this:

The earlier with resistors look like this:

They are easy to find and can be had for very reasonable prices if you shop around. You can also use the later more readily available rubber Packard connector gages that adapt easily to the metal Douglas connectors and are very reasonably priced NOS.

Canvas the MV dealers and the surplus houses for the best price.
