Master Cylinder Question

Is there a known problem w/these older master cylinders re not relieving brake fluid pressure when foot is taken off pedal?

Just about any master cylinder can have that happen to it. Depends on the check valve or residual valve arrangements in each master cylinder. It can also be caused by deteriorated hoses in the system. If the truck will be a daily driver it is time to think about a complete system refurbishment and maybe a newer dual type master cylinder.

Do you have the pedal free travel adjusted correctly so the M/C piston is fully released when the pedal is released? Is the pedal pull back spring in place and doing its job? Either of these situations will cause what you describe.
