My truck has to ford a river regularly tho only in shallow water 12" deep. I assume the wheels have to be torn down regularly for cleaning and lube, so:

1. What is best lube for brakeshoe pivot and felt ring to control rusting problem (given fording situation).
2. Lube for lock-out hubs, SuperWench brand.
3. Lube for front wheel bearings.

Thanks!!

The particular type of lube for felt and anchor pins will probably be secondary. The main issue is that you check them often and keep that felt saturated so it doen't take on moisture. Moisture laden felt will cause some serious rust and corrosion rather quickly.

Super Winch recommends only using 30 weight oil as a lubricant for their hubs.

Wheel bearing grease should be a premium brand of bearing grease, NLGI#2 spec. We like Royal Purple, it has offered excellent service for us. They offer several types that will meet the bearing specs and is resistant to water wash out.

I just can't get past the need to say that the best lubrication for a Super Wench is KY Jelly.

As usual, sage advice, mostly (I have reservations about the KY jelly)
