So after I spent Fathers Day doing yard work and addressing my oil pump leak on the M, the wife and I decide to take the rig to a local pub for burgers. In the parking lot a 30 something guy comes up to me and says:

"Wow, what year is that army truck?'
I reply: "It is a 1958 M37 Dodge"
"Oh, so its from World War Two?"
I replied "yep"
At least he didn't call it a jeep.....

It's a sad case/state of affairs for our nation, but your right, "At Least He Didn't Call It A Jeep"! I know he meant well. 8)
BTW, Happy "Belated" Father's Day Everyone,

Our hero! I once told a gal who had asked, that my M37 was Korean War and Vietnam vintage, and a few minutes later as she departed she said "Oh, thanks for your service in the Korean War". First, I might be ugly but I ain't that old (wasn't yet born-that was '57) , and second, purists know that Truman never declared "war" for the Korean "Confict"....

There has been some theory here recently “YOU CAN NOT FIX STUPID”. You might try but its bred into them and they really have no chance, the parents of stupid are at fault because stupid is as stupid does.

If you want to see how stupid our country is, go to http://www.answers.com and read some of the questions people want answered.

WOW! Judging from the questions I read, some people are just plain stupid. Others, particularly the ones asking arithmetic-related questions, are just too lazy to do their homework. They're probably enrolled in summer school because they were too lazy to do their own homework during the regular year.

"Look Who’s Teaching
author Posted by:Sebastian on date Apr 28th, 2009 | filed Filed under: Anti-Gun Folks

We have the video from the interview with Cam last night. I am still
speechless. A high school teacher who doesn’t realize that federal
law applies to the whole country, including New York. A high school
teacher who took what New Yorkers Against Gun Violence said about the
law at face value, and who pretty clearly hasn’t researched the topic
at all. This is what’s teaching the next generation? God help us."

This might help explain the "Big Jeep Syndrome"

 OMG!! That guy just didn't get it, did he? I wish I could say that I've never met a teacher like him, but there are a lot of them. One example was a sex-ed teacher at an Illinois high school who taught her students that holding hands causes pregnancy. Another was a history teacher who taught that the "holocaust never actually happened and was just a bunch of political hoo-hah." My own history teacher in college was a Viet Nam era draft-dodger who took up temporary residence in Canada for the duration and returned to the US during the amnesty program. I was a Viet Nam era veteran, and to say that we had decidedly different opinions about that war would be a massive understatement. Anyway, I'm just saying that nobody has cornered the market on stupid. Idjits are everywhere and in all walks of life. You can't avoid 'em!

Lifer you just made the first mistake! You underestimated him. He knows dam well what he's doing. He got on the air to spread this party's talking points right ! Don't ever for a minute think he's stupid. People like that don't get into these positions by being dumb....

If you want to know the true story of American history you need to be listening to the president and how the statue of liberty came to be. His wife thinks we also need to work on the history of our country.
Now there are two really smart people!
