Hi,I'm hoping somebody out there can help me on this, ive attached a picture of an M37 in Vietnam with the earlier type antenna mount for the MX-2799 Matching unit, it's on the forward on the right side ,it shows it in the installation manuals but doesnt say what the antenna mount number is,so i dont know what to search for,ive only got this picture and the manuals to go by.?

Does anybody have one ?

And no its not the AB-243 thats just for the AB-15 receive antenna unit.

Can anyone help...

I don't know about the antenna but it's another nice historic picture of an M in Vietnam. Thanks for posting it.

Cuz (Wes) just answered your question in another thread. Its under sugar scoop mount. Nice drawings.

It should answer your question.

Hoodwinck, would it be okay if I added your picture to my M37 in-action archive?

The second picture in the group of pictures looks like the regular "sugar scoop" mount and then a metal gaurd around it. While the others have that same guard, but a different box type mount. Haven't seen one of them before. I wonder if it wasn't for some special equipment?

Hi yes the mount on the second picture is the MX 6707,"sugar scoop" used with the VRC 12 equipment,ie the RT 524 and the RT 246,standard US Army radio equipment used right up till the late 90's,the guard is from the earlier type antenna installation ,and just placed behind.
The rectangular antenna box your talking about..matching unit is the MX 2799,used before the later MX 6707 came in to replace it around 1967, ish .

Whew.....Nice pics!
Thanks for sharing them, I have a NOS Sugar scoop I'm planning on using at some point. Mine came w/a rectangular plinth, about 5/8 " inches deep.

Hi,

Still looking for the antenna mount for the MX-2799,ive had a few false leads so far but i'm not giving up hope...there's one out there somewhere with my name on it.

So just to clarify what i'm looking for the large oblong mount as in the pictures and not the AB 243 receiver antenna mount that everybody calls the transmitter antenna...

Anybody....
