OK Folks, I know what the TM calls for in load carrying, but was wondering just how much the #s can be pushed? I have moved 2200 # pallets on numerous occasions for many miles. The truck handled that like cake. Monday I have to help my Son and pick up a pallet of ready mix and transport about 4 miles on paved roads. So anyone moved about 3200 #s ?

Well, the truck will handle the load but you may new springs/shocks afterwards.........

I can't say for sure about an M37, but "Bubba" (just down the road from me) has an M715. Just the other day, I saw him with his wife riding shotgun and his wife's mother and 2 sisters in the back of the truck. Judging from the way the truck was hunkered down on its springs, I'd guess that it was pretty near max load!

Personally, I'd pay to have it delivered. Easier on the truck and safer on the roads. It'll cost you more if you breakdown on the way home.

Your story reminds me of one. A while back there was a couple that lived in my town. He was a scrawny little thing and she was ginormous! They owned a little Toyota pickup. She was way too big to fit inside the cab, so she would sit in the back, She was the same width as the truck bed, and would use the bed sides as armrests. Think Jabba the hut. They only ventured out when it wasnt raining, and you didnt see much of her in the winter. I suspect he was so skinny because he couldnt get near the trough!
I bet the rear suspension on that truck was pretty beat.

I would be thinking about 2 trips. If it's only 4 miles.

I've carried loads similar to the one pictured several times. I calculated this load to be about 3000. Truck is absolutely stock, bumper to bumper. The truck is sitting a little low in the back but not a lot. I drive this load about 2 or 3 miles on paved secondary roads with no problems, however the center of gravity is a bit high. I leave a lot of room for stopping distance and the acceleration is best measured with a calendar, but I'm not ever going over about 30mph. I would never carry this load very far or on a busy road but she doesn't seem to strain or complain too much. One of the great things about the M-37 is that in the afternoon it's helping me with chores then a couple hours later it's taking me and my wife on a top down cruise for ice-cream and drawing a crowd wherever we stop.

Next time I have a load of hay on mine I'll get a photo.

Great idea about showing our M37s earning their keep. The reason for the single trip is both cost, I get a deeper discount on a full pallet. The second reason is that my Son is going to park the truck with all bags in the bed. The mixer will be behind the truck and it makes loading the mixer easier. He has 40 or so fence posts to pour in so I may not see the truck for a while.

I would think with that much weight sitting in the truck for an extended period could be hard on the springs. Would the discount be enough to pay for new springs?

Good call on the possible spring sag. If we go that direction I'll have him put some temp jacks under the frame. My older Son had a another idea on the bag storeage once the entire load gets to his house. I report back with maybe a photo.

A few weeks ago I loaded mine with a heaping pile of compost. (could not have gotten another shovel full on) And drove it 2 miles on gravel roads. It did just fine. In fact I got two more skid loader bucket fulls on it than my son got on his Dually Ford. And the Ford was tail low in a big way. The M although sagging, seemed to hold the weight much better. This I know is not real helpful, but...It's at least as capable as most modern trucks in holding weight, if not considerably more so.
