A Torch A Torch....

My kingdom for a Torch.... Ok I'll take a flame wrench too!

I'm watching everyone get their projects done and feeling bad because I've been on hold for 6 month now because I need a torch to heat some metal up to bend and mold to make body panels. Anyone in NE. Ohio have access to or know where I can get a torch? I don't have a lot of money so buying new is out of the question.

Thanks for listening.... :)

Try renting one - most rental shops (around here anyway) have torches and bottles for rent....

Joe,
Go get one of the Bernzomatic YELLOW bottled torches from your local OSH/SEARS/Home Improvement store-hot enough that I was able to heat and adjust my door hinges (and we know how stout THOSE are)! I think it cost $15.

The generic name for those yellow jugs is Mapp Gas.

Get one of these kits from harbor freight... It's nice having the different tips... I use the duck billed one for heating up sheet metal to bend it... MAP gas makes things so much easier... I don't mind dragging out the mixed gas rig but the MAP gas is enough to do the job like everyone says...

Hey don't get discouraged on your project... Hang in there... :D

I agree with ODDJOB! Don't get discouraged! I'd venture a guess that most of us are nowhere near to "...getting our projects done...." I'm certainly not, even though I'm now able to take it for short spins, I still have tons left to do (one sub-task at a time).
