I am installing side boards and troop seats on my M37 , what Info I need are the dimensions of the wood , looks like 5/4 by 4 or 5" I don't have any originals to go by . I plan on using some oak or ash wood that I get from the sawmill and plane it down . thanks bob k

Bob, I'm in the process of doing this myself. I just cut all the boards the other day and I have the dimensions but unfortunately I don't have them near me at the moment. However this is easy info to get. This has been discussed several times right here on the forum in the last few months. If you do a search on this forum for "troop seats" I believe you will find all the info you will need for installing your troop seats and rails. Several folks here have also posted helpful photos that will help you see just how everything goes together. Additionally Garbee's website has a lot of info including the dimensions and many photos that will be of help.

I'm not up to that part yet on my truck, But I was thinking about using Red Oak on mine and clear coating it.

Thanks everybody for all the info , it was just what I needed . I will probably use some ash wood , has a nice grain and there is lots around here , everybody's cutting ash trees due to the ash borer . I will probably leave it natural and put some stain on it . bob k
