front tie down mounts

I'm getting ready to prime a whole bunch of parts after sandblasting, just wondering if the lower front bumper braces right where the tie down loops mount , are they supposed to be straight or have a slight bend downward. Looks like someone might have had a couple of tie downs too tight, at one time, to me. My '53 is the same way.
Thanks , Paul in Janesville,Wi

Mine have an angle as well, as do some I salvaged from another rig. I cannot find the picture of them in the parts book to see if the drwaing represents an angle

The three sets that I have all have a slight bend in them but they are not the same . When I was at the equipment park at Fort McCoy, Wis. they have a m37 and that one has straight mounting areas and the VPW catalog shows them to be straight too .
Thanks for the info.

Figure 201 in TM 9-8030 shows the front bumper mounted "hold-down brackets." They look to be angled the same as the other ones mounted to the frame, as in slightly. Figure 207 shows it better. I would try to match the angle of the side mounted ones so they are all uniform.

All of the original ones have the angle, however some reproduced will fits do not.

I have finally had the time to look through some of the TM's and I see from the pictures that the tie down mount area on the bumper brace appears to be flat. Now to flatten it out and proceed to priming and painting
Thanks for the help,
