Fuel filter...

Says according to the Production changes link off the main page that my July 1953 M37 would not have the fuel filter attached to the bracket on the Generator Regulator... I can't find anything suggesting there was one ever placed there... but I just want to make sure I'm not over looking something or not reading something correctly... and being that the former owner did things half way I want to track down anything I would have missing asap...

There were two types of mounts for the regulator, one has a flange for the filter and one does not. Some early trucks still have the older flange but no filter.

They would probably have been deleted by the mechanics when the trucks visited the shop and then a fresh coat of OD would hide the evidence.

Okay...

Okay from what I can tell after crawling underneath the fuel lines are tight to the frame so that more than likely confirms that it was a truck with the flange but never having the fuel filter installed it does have a mesh screen in the fuel filler neck and the fuel line from the fuel pump to the carb has a split with barbed ends to accept a line filter as well...

I will be so happy when I get the initial clean up and repair done from what this guy boogered up...

All the trucks filler necks had screens. The barb near the carb is probably a civie mod. Many folks put filters there.

Figuring out what was a hack job and what belongs on the truck is often frustrating. Keep at it!
