I like it! Thats a pretty sweet updated version - provided its got some gumption under the hood. V6's are for minivans...

I like the visual play going on in this picture. In that the M37 was replaced with the M715; and here we are 2010 with what might be a revamped 715 and the M37 is still plugging along!!

To be correct, I believe the M-37 was replaced by the Gama Goat as the militarys next tactical vehicle.
To me, to see the Kaiser front end and grill is a bad flash back and memories of thin tin and frames not being heavy enough.

Not to be hijacking the post, but I have to ask. What is the little web strap on the hook of the winch cable for? I know to pull with. It seems like the fancy dressed up guy who dosent want to get his hands dirty would like it but come on, if you are using a winch, isnt a given that you might get a tad messy? I just grab the hook and go. I see them on the new style Power Wagons, one came with my Mile Marker that I put on my 09 Ram. I threw it away. Or, am I missing the point and there is a good reason for it?
The truck is a pretty cool looking rig though. The 715s seem like they have to grow on you. I am starting to like them more and more.

The web on the hook isn't for spooling out, its something to hold onto while spooling in so that the risk of pinched fingers is reduced. The web is dirty no matter what, so I would imagine that hands will be soiled either way...

I've always had a soft spot for the 715 but we had them in SEA in the late 60's and I thought of them more as a CUCV type than a real Tactical vehicle which the M37 was built as.

The M715 did replace the M37, Gama Goat replaced the M715.

I fully agree on the thin metal aspect, 715 certainly has that. They are nowhere near the quality vehicle an M37 is in many ways. We build one on occassion here, pulling one all the way down will show you the lack of quality real fast.
