winch question

:?: I am having a hard time trying to move the control lever[engaged and disengaged] lever on my 52 m-37.I got it to move and it works the cable in and out,but you really have to hit the lever to get it to move,which is not a good thing to do.any help would sure be helpful!Also does both sides of the winch take a quart of 90 w oil

It needs worm gear oil, ISO460, 1 qt per housing.

I assume you are talking about the drum clutch lever, if I'm correct, it is most likely partially seized in the housing. Dissimilar metals, steel shaft, aluminum housing, corrosion gets the upper hand over time. Usually requires disassembly for clean up to improve movement.
