I am not sure I have the correct number for the sealer for the bolts and studs for the head and manifold . The number I have is Loctite PST 561.
I just got off the phone with Napa and they could not find a match. Can someone post the correct number or tell me of a product that will do the same job.

I used Loctite 562. I don't have my catalog here at the house but I believe their is a 561 also. A little different consistency. NAPA handles Permatex and I dont believe Permatex has a cross yet? Our local Permatex facility is always buying Loctite from us to reverse engineer. I also have several sample tubes of the Gasoila (a Cleveland, OH Co., FYI, Loctite is now owned by the same folks who built the German Henkel 111)brand liquid PST that I am currently using on my fittings. I will be happy to send you a couple tubes FOC. I have a sample tube of 562 also. I can probably can get the 561, but I use 562 on everything. Let me know.

The product NAPA handles now is Permatex high-temp thread sealer, in the supply section of the Bal-Kamp catalog, does the same job as PST 561 that they used to carry. We go through a bunch of it, absolutely a great product that I wouldn't be without.

I found the 561 in my Loctite catalog. It is the "quick Stick" version of the 565 PST. The quick stick is basically Loctite in a chapstick style no drip stick.
PS: I meant 564 in my earlier post not 562. It was early in the morning before my coffee

The Permatex Hi Temp Thread Sealant from NAPA is Item #765-2648 for the .20 oz tube.

Great thanks for helping me out on the correct number and brand. The NAPA guy had mentioned that he had a Permatex sealer but at 14.00 for it I thought that I better check it out here on the forum first.

I went to the local Napa and what I purchased to use to seal my trans mission Pto covers was Permatex Hi performance Thread Sealant
#765-2681. Since the bolt holes are drilled in to the caseI need some thing better than Aviation Permatex on the threads It leaked on one of the pto bolts. Do you think this is a compareable or Compatable product.

Rich - I defer to Charles on this one. I almost bought the hi-perf by accident, Charles told me I needed the hi-temp when dealing with any engine/exhaust components - the two packages at NAPA look the same.
