Weather report is for several inches of snow this weekend. Hoping I can get my truck out and try out my new defroster setup.....Hoping its a substantial enough snowstorm that I can yet again beat the salt trucks to the punch.....

Carter;

Better get that snow plow ready.......

I hope you get your snow and that it stays far enough south of me!

Warren,
I am with you. Mine is down to the frame so snow only means shoveling to me.

It's ready Nick, I used it this morning to clear 4" of new accumulation from the driveway then went to the gas station and filled the tank and am good to go for the next storm on Friday evening. Now it's back in the garage ready for the next round, bring it on. I love my M37 :D

Warren, it took some effort to love it when it was first found and given to me. Effort, time and money:

Carter;

How do you install the plow? Do you use an engine hoist to haul up the whole deal, or do you install the mount, then just bolt the plow to it. I remember you had the whole assembly on a skid when I had the boys down there back in the summer. Looked quite heavy to me.

Nick, I install the black painted frame first, it weighs about 40# and is easily handled by one man. Then I roll the 4 wheel dock cart that the blade is stored on in front of the truck mounted frame and install the 2 bottom pivot bolts connecting the plow to the frame. Connect the winch cable's lead chain to the plow, run the cable through the snatch block and it's ready for action after the cart is moved aside. Easy enough for me to do alone in about 15 min. with no real heavy lifting needed. When it is to be removed, the cart is rolled under the lifted blade, winch the blade down on the cart, remove the 2 bolts after the cable is disconnected and roll it away.

Ahh, 10-4 got it.......

I thought the frame you made was heavier than that. I can see now from your explanation that its a pretty easy setup.

Kinda wish I had a winch on my truck. I'd like to have a setup like that. Don't really want to mess around with add on hydraulics, etc.

Does the red truck you have also have a winch? If so you should make that one the dedicated plow truck so yo ucan save the nice truck from any risk of salt damage.

Yes the other truck has a winch and you are correct, the red one will be my plow rig once I get it running so the restored one will stay in good condition. I don't beat the crap out of the green one but it will be nice not to have to be concerned with scratching the paint or something more harmful. Salt is not an issue since I only plow a couple of driveways with it and none are ever treated, the owners count on me to show up.

I saw the Thursday noon weather forcast and now the weather man is saying 1 to 2 feet predicted, but last Saturday they said a light dusting and we got four inches of powder. :shock:

Yeah we're forecast to get between 8"-14" in our neck of the woods with this latest storm. The last one was only supposed to be a dusting to an inch and we got about 2 1/2". You guys are going to get more than us again, the main line of snow is set to pass lower again, so we won't get quite as much as you are set to but who knows. These weather people couldn't predict where their arses will be an hour from now.

This morning's forecast was calling for up to 24 more inches in northern VA! Don't knopw how much y'all already have, but I'm glad to be down here in GA right about now. ;)

I awoke to about 2 feet in my drive today. I had to get the wifes jeep out of the garage as her jackass boss still wants her to come in. :x She works in a real estate office. Who is going to look at homes today???? I basically put it in low 1 4WD and plowed down the driveway. I am going to drive her to work as I have cancelled classes for today.
I wish I had installed my door glass, heater switch, and wipers in the M back in the fall as I would surely take it out today for some fun in the snow, although I do have my motorcycle goggles still, I would have to keep my winshield glass open as I sold my defroster duct last year...I may take it off the jackstands today.I would have to dig out my daily driver as it is blocking the M's side of the garage.mmmm.
Although a fire and a movie sounds good. I can watch the war flicks while the wife is away. I picked up "The Battle of the Bulge" last night in the discount bin. Can't wait to catch all the historical inaccuracies equipment wise in that. I have not seen it in about 20 years. If I recall it was like "Patton", where both sides have the same tanks only painted different colors :roll: :)

Good Morning Guys

Great Great great news we got "0" snow last night. I hail form the Northeast part of Pa. and we missed it all. For me that is good news for business. People will now be able to get out and buy beer for the game tomorrow. Hope they buy it all at my store.

"Hello, is this {insert wife's name here} boss? Yes, this is Mr Hingsing, she won't be coming in to work today due to the blizzard......click".......

So far we got about 18" and its still coming down. I went out this morning around 9:30 and fired up the snowblower. We had drifts 3 feet deep in front of the garage. I plowed a wide path up to the street. Its now 11:00 and we got about 2 inches back down on the driveway. I'm going to be taking the truck out shortly and will drive down to the gas station, then will play for about a half hour or so, then will be putting the truck away and will be hopping back behind the snowblower again. This storm is going to rival the blizzard we had back in 96. That day we got 30.5 inches by sundown. This is a once a decade storm and I plan to have some fun. Hope the truck doesn't let me down.
