Passenger side mirror-how to hang it?

I hate not having a passenger side mirror on my M37. The standard mount doesn't work if you have the jerry can affixed. I've seen mods to the hood support, brackets attached to the side access panel and such, but none look very "clean" from an appearance perspective-they appear uneven, off-centered and such. We don't dare run w/o a spare can of gas....

Opinions please-what's your best solution for this while retaining the spare gas can?
Thanks,
Gary

Here's how mine mounts. Solid too. I'm going to be making some copies of these too. Image

The one I made and installed is nearly the same as Chunks, there are several shots of it in this album.

Thanks for the shots, guys (even though some of them don't open from work-firewall issues). I now see how best to proceed.

I fabricated my own, similar to Carter's.

The one in the pics Chunk posted looks like the stock Canadian passenger side mirror mount. As also mentioned, John Bizal has exact duplicates available.

Chunk: You can check John's web site. www.midwestmil.com I think it was $34 with the mirror arm last time I looked. He has a lot of other good stuff we all need sooner or later...
