I have owned my m37 for four years now and always had it insured with st farm. Recently I purchased an m35a2 and went to insure it with them but I was declined. After having havertys decline me cause it isnt going to be garaged I am at a bit of a loss. So I am wondering if anyone here can shed some light on this for me? Who are people using? Thanks for all of the help.

Hi Matt,
I was turned down by Haggarty, grundy and a host of others. Finally got accepted by Parrish Heacock for my Power Wagon. I later added a second Power Wagon and a Spitfire. The Spitfire increased my rates $7 a year. Last year they increased my stated value on all of the vehicles, saying they had appreciated. I havent made any claims but so far they have been good to work with. However, they do require it to be garaged.

I use Condon and Skelly out of NJ. They write a policy underwritten by Met Life. I valued my truck at $6500 and it costs me $74 a year to insure it. I have never had a problem with them.
As for others, many good suggestions, barring one in my opinion. State Farm, burned me once by writing a policy for another antique truck I had, and then cancelling the policy two weeks later. I had to scramble to get new coverage before the State revoked my antique plates, thus requiring me to redue the long registration process. The kicker was that they had the type vehicle in their "book" but didnt bother to tell the agent they didnt honor it. The agent wasnt much help with the problem so I went with C&S for all my antique trucks after that. I also changed over all my other policies (life, regular auto, homeowners) to other carriers saving money and never looking back.
I am not saying dont use State Farm, just be sure you have a decent agent that will take care of you. I didnt and they didnt care, so bye bye...

I've used State Farm for my two M35's for over ten years, as well as my M43,M37,M1008, and my M1009. They wrote the M35 policys as a "commercial vehicle". The cost is less than $300.00 a year for full coverage.

Fortunately I have a good agent. I currently carry liability only, but will soon add "towing" just in case, since I'll be on the road soon. Hey, AAA might be a better option-any opinions on this?
