I'm going to have a new data plate made for my 51 M37 and at the bottom there is JMC stamped in large letters. Any idea what that stands for? I added the pic to my gallery. Thanks!

Most importantly, the Ordinance Stamp, the JMC almost looks like the local VFD might have added?
Where are you getting your new plates, they might be able to shedd some light on the subject as well?
Years ago, (almost 8 ) I got my complete set from Artillery Dan, he applied the ord stamp then, a local engraver did the rest.

JMC usually refers to the US Army's Joint Munitions Command who may have been the agency your truck was assigned to at one time.

That is the initials of the individual at Dodge authorized by Army Ordnance procurement to perform the acceptance inspection at the factory. The stampings are often light and hard to read. The initials are usually there along with the Ordnance symbol.

Oh well, I wasn't sure about JMC so that's why I wrote "may have been the agency your truck was assigned to at one time."
I never thought about calling them

Carter, any input is better than nothing! I have no known history on this truck so I could get lucky and find something about the plate and you have me started in the right direction. For that I thank you!

I believe it is better to have tried and failed than never to have tried at all, this way at least, I have learned something new. :D
