M-37 engine...

A re-occurring theme in this forum is swapping out the original engine for something with a little more "oomph", and there are folks who have "re-powered" their rigs so that they can get up to the highway speeds of today's road. To me, "re-power" means that you are trying to increase performance.

Me? I just want to know what other engines will bolt into my M-37, just in case I screw up the engine I've got, or discover that it's got some fatal flaw once I get down to the bare bones. I'm a body and fender guy, and this engine is the first own I've ever torn down (beyond lawnmower engines - and I didn't do too well on those...)

So, the question stands...

(Just in case I screw up, does anybody have their old "stock" T-245 laying about that they'd like to get rid of?)

Thanks!

Gunner,
Just trust in yourself, and follow the manual. make sure everything is very clean, and work methodically and carefully. No need to rush, nobody is paying by the hour. Check your work, stand back and look at it, organise your parts carefully so you can see that left over part before its all buttoned up. You can do it!
