Well, the battery was dead on a little dump trailer i have. So, the 37 was handy, i took one of the batteries out of the truck, and used it on the trailer for a few minutes last night, i went to put the battery back in. Hooked all (both) cables back up. Nothing no lights, no start, no nothing. While putting the battery back in, one of my grounds hit the battery box and sparked, i didnt think nothing of it, untill i went to start it. Could i have tripped a breaker, blown a fuse or something. The battery hook up seems easy, i wouldnt have thought i did something wrong there. I mean both longs leads, grounds, cables, whatever go on the negative, and then the short jumer from pos. to pos. right. What might i have done. Oh, I checked both batteries after that. Both are good. actually, real good.

If I am reading you right, you hooked up your cross battery jumper wrong. It should jump a postitive to negative post to give you 24VDC. Otherwise you will just get a strong 12VDC  ) Then the long hot cable + to the starter, the long negative to engine/ frame ground. :)

OOPS! The jumper goes from positive (+) to negative (-) so that the batteries are connected in series to get 24 volts. The way you have them connected now will ruin them in very short order. :(

Actually what he did was harmless. The pos to pos connection made the entire system a big Zero. No drain and no power. There was no place for any electrons to flow.
