So this month I am attacking my doors. I have removed the windows, regulators, locks and other guts and have had the shells blasted. Any tips or suggestions for re-assembly? It is easier to re-assemble the door components with the door mounted on the cab? Or put it all together on the bench then attach it? How have you folks done it? Any mods to the mechanisims I should do while I am in there? Thanks

I don't have any answers to your questions as I am a long way from the door stage, but I would like to ask that you post pics as you go along as well as a disciption of the work for those of us who will be getting there can reference later.

It's easier to install the shell on the cab, then install the runner channels, latch/lock mechanism, weather strips, & glass frame. This way is especially true if your shell is freshly painted, far less chance of damaging new paint.

I did my first door, hung it complete...by myself, it weighed too much, chipped some paint on each hinge! My second on, the passenger side I hung the painted shell, sooo much easier. Put is back the way it came apart, albeit, with some new innards. I added one new door lock and one new regulator the driver.
I also added a nice square of hush mat on the interior, not sure how much good it will do?

This one was a NOS door, the interior was complete, from Memphis Equipment.

Thanks guys. I just finished up hanging both of my doors shells on the cab. After not having doors on there for so long it semms really SMALL in the cab now

I used bungees to hold the doors from swinging open. One let go and the damn hook tore a hunk of skin from my finger...ouch

The wife brought me a band aid for my workman's comp
