Pedal bumpers

When I pulled the floorboards in my M37 there were no pedal bumpers. I didnt know there were supposed to be there as I had never pulled an M37 floor out before. In disassembling my parts truck, I pulled the floorboard and there is a rubber block attached to the underside of the plate, for the pedals to hit on when released. OK, here is the odd part. Both rubber blocks were spaced away from the floor pan with about 1/2" wooden blocks. Now that didnt look too factory to me. So, what gives? is there supposed to be a pair of bumpers, and if so, why would they be spaced out 1/2 an inch? I glanced through the TM and didnt see anything but didnt do an exhaustive search.
Thanks in advance,
Tim

I had no bumpers on my truck. As of yet I have not seen any or heard them spoke of. Only the draft pads. I do not recall my pedals hitting the floorboard when I got my truck. I will be hooking up my brake pedal soon and let you know if I have a contact issue 8)

Thanks David,
I didnt examine it too closely, I was in full demolition mode. It may well be a home fix for worn pedals or something along that line. I will take a closer look at it.

I have a theory on the wooden blocks behind the pedals. I think the blocks were added after the fact for tall people. My truck has them, but I never thought much about them until recently, when I finally got brakes. I'm 6'3", and If my brake pedal was an inch closer to me, I'm not sure I would be able to get my foot on the pedal due to knee interference with the steering wheel. Just a thought.

There are no pedal bumpers supposed to be there. Only the draft pads, the floor panels serve as the pedal stops & works great with correctly adjusted pedals.

The rubber boot that fits over the pedal shaft. They cover the holes where the pedals pass through the floor panels when the pedals are released.

They keep the "draft" out when the vehicle is in motion-hence the name "draft pads".

Hmmm, Sounds like a very fine JUDGE point for a show type vehicle, right NATRASS?
