I need to buy the lower exhaust pipe. I have seen a "one piece" pipe advertised by our friendly vendors....is this a replacement for the upper/lower pipe that was original? Is there any advantage to it?

I'm only missing the lower pipe and a couple of gaskets to complete the exhaust system.

I Think

To my re-collection, there are 4 pc's The first at the manifold that has the swivel nut/bolt, the next pc. goes to the muffler, it has a ninety and a little kink in it, then a short straight pc, w/ another ninety to the tip, I think that's right, four plus the muffler?

My manual is in the shop w/ the od godess.

That's correct, Bruce. But I have seen a "one piece" pipe advertised for $80 and was wondering if it replaced the first two sections ahead of the muffler.

Did the 37 use the tip extension as well as the 43?

Both Ways

The price sounds right, I think that is how that particular piece of pipe is available. I got mine from John @ Mid-West.
The tip itself is only about 8 inches.

Yes, that is correct. The one piece pipe is a direct replacement for the two piece exhaust pipes ahead of the muffler. I also got mine from Mid west Mil.

Great. I'll have to pick one up then. My wife and kids will appreciate not hearing the loud engine noise in the garage!

I've seen several that run w/o the short exhaust tip, in order to save time whenever they mount the fording exhaust pipe.

This probably explains why I haven't seen many trucks with the tip installed. Most guys want that fording kit.
